Information Technology & Communications Department, Government of Meghalaya, through Meghalaya Information Technology Society (MITS) has started a programme called Meghalaya Super 60. MITS recognizes that getting access to high quality content and   preparation  methods from  best  in  class JEE  &  NEET coaching  providers is  a major challenge in the state of Meghalaya. In view of this, IT&C Department has tied up with Byju’s, one of the leading online coaching providers of India, for this programme. Under this programme, MITS would select 60 meritorious students from across the state of Meghalaya and provide them Tablet based coaching to prepare the students for IIT-JEE/NEET examinations for 2019. Following are the salient features of the programme,

  • The complete two year’s course, along with the Tablets will be fully sponsored  by IT&C Department.
  • It will prepare the students for IIT-JEE Main & Advanced and NEET
  • 60 Students will be selected
  • 30 seats each for IIT-JEE and NEET applicants
  • Complete course material will be available offline on the Tablets itself.
  • The course is tuned to be in self-paced and self-learning mode.
  • High quality Tablets will be provided free of cost for this programme.
  • Byju’s will provide a study plan, which will help the students to focus on the important concepts, grasp shortcuts techniques and prepare them for the competitive examinations.
  • The activities of the students will be stored on the tablet. Students have to connect their tablets to Internet at least once in a month to update their progress.
  • Adequate Mock Tests will be held and student’s All India Ranking will be provided.
  • Online doubt clearing sessions through Byju’s call center based helpdesk will be provided.
  • Quarterly face-to-face mentoring sessions by Byju’s experts will be conducted at the e-learning center of IT&C Department, Shillong.
  • Career Counseling by experts
  • Monitoring mechanism for parents/teachers to check progress


Following are the eligibility criteria for the students,

  • Students studying in Class XIScience stream in Meghalaya
  • Students who belong to Scheduled Tribes of Meghalaya
  • Students who have secured 70% or more (in Mathematics & Science) in Class X  Board exams 2017
  • Students who intend to appear for IIT-JEE or NEET in 2019
  • Few of the seats will be reserved for students below poverty line (income certificate from BDO will have to be provided)
